All of this in the gentle yet violent setting of the "Isle of Women" (L'Ile aux Femmes), which is the legendary name of the Isle of Ushant, a French island off the coast of Brittany & Could there be a more compelling place for the romantic spirit -- the feminine spirit by definition since it is that of inner expectation- to find a setting for its boundless quest?
