Summary:
At the start of the 21st century, the discipline of psychology seemed to be separating into two radically distinct domains: Qualitative and Cultural Psychology, focusing on the discursive means for the management of meaning in a world of norms; and Neuropsychology, Cognition and Neuroscinence, focusing on the investigation of brain processes. This textbook ambitiously aims to provide a unity between these two domains, bringing together a collection of expert voices able to speak to their similarities and differences.
This is a timely, original and provocative textbook. It will support teaching in 2nd and 3rd year courses on the conceptual and philosophical nature of psychology, social psychology, critical psychology and cognitive science. Selectively, it will also represent a very interesting and different choice for foundation level students. Book jacket.
