- Summary:
- This book describes the emerging electricity networks that will enable all energy services to become sustainable. Attention is given not only to the power elements of the transmission and distribution grid, but also to new types of demand, and especially to all aspects of control and system interaction. The book begins with an overview of the new energy paradigm in an international perspective and an outline of the socio-economic and environmental objectives associated with SmartGrids. After a discussion of business models for SmartGrids and the customer's perspective, technical chapters detail transmission grids and energy management systems, and give advice on planning and reconfiguration of distribution grids, decision making tools, and integration of vehicles with rechargeable batteries into distribution networks. There is also material on administration, management, regulatory, and economic aspects of Smart Meters and SmartGrids. Hadjsaïd and Sabonnadiére are affiliated with G2ELAB.
