- "Clearly a working document which may be a fragment, this Victorian diet regulations card details daily diet for the various classes of prisoner detained at her majesty's pleasure. Debting and bankrupt prisoners might expect 1.5 lbs. of bread, 2 pints of gruel daily, 1 pint of soup three times per week, and three ounces of meat without bone and 0.5 lb. of potatoes four tiems per week. Whereas those under punishment for breaches of Prison rules might expect for the first and second days 1 lb. of bread, 1.25 for the third and 1.5 for subsequent days."--vendor's description.
