Vols. 1-2, dated 1794, are the second edition of a work complete "in two volumes" first published in 1793; vol. 3 is the third edition of the author's Historical survey of the French colony in the island of St. Domingo, which appeared originally as a separate work, but in 1801 was issued as vol. 3 of the History ... of the British colonies in the West Indies, in three volumes.

The fourth volume entitled, List of maps and plates for the History ... of the British colonies in the West Indies, in two volumes, which includes a preface to the second edition of the "History ... ", has been filmed as item no. 16048.2.
