Called the Five-sections, this is a collection of ancient animal fables intended to give guidance to young princes on relationships (including political and social), as well as to entertain.

Written in 11-12 lines per leaf.
155 leaves foliated (Part 1) 1-75, (Part 2) 1-22, (Part 3) 1-26, (Part 4) 1-15, (Part 5) 1-16, [i], upper left and lower right verso.
Colophon: iti śrīviṣṇuśarmanākṛte paṃcataṃtrākhyāne nītiśāstre aparīkṣakāritaṃ nāmapaṃcamaṃtaṃtraṃ samāptaṃ // śubhaṃbhavatu // (Part 5, f. 16v).
Mistakes covered over in yellow or blacked out; some corrections and additions in margins; verse divisions in red throughout; vertical margins marked with red and gold line.
Each section begins and ends with a painted folio mostly featuring three mandala-like designs surrounded by an ornately painted border.
