This report is one in a series of updates. For the most recent coverage of this report series, please see 09-R4-0482 in the 2009 issue.
Examines the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs appropriations legislation, which provides annual funding for Department of State and most international affairs programs that are generally considered as part of the 150 international affairs budget function, and has recently served as a Congressional vehicle to place conditions on expenditure of those funds, and express its views regarding certain foreign policy issues. Discusses legislation generally and describes various funding accounts as they appear in Division I of P.L. 112-74, FY2012 Consolidated Appropriations Act.
