- Examines how policymakers would identify any spillover of drug trafficking-related violence from Mexico into the U.S. Provides overview of Mexican drug trafficking organization structures, how they conduct business, and relationship between drug trafficking organizations in Mexico and their partnerships operating in the U.S. Discusses illicit drug trade between Mexico and the U.S., and examines factors implicated in drug trafficking-related violence. Analyzes possible nature of any spillover violence that may arise, and addresses issues involved in accurately identifying and measuring such violence. Evaluates available crime rate data and how this data may or may not reflect changes in drug trafficking-related crime.
