Summary:
Presents overview of P.L. 109-416, the Combating Autism Act (CAA), and P.L. 112-32, the Combating Autism Reauthorization Act (CARA), both of which authorize funding for autism surveillance, research, and education at various HHS agencies and provide supporting aid to States and other entities for related programs. Examines funding and activities under CAA and CARA for FY2007-FY2012 and FY2013 Presidential budget request. Discusses other Federal activities related to autism, coordination of public and private autism research funding, and selected issues for Congress.
