Describes eligibility requirements, benefit types, compensation amounts, and program financing for the Railroad Retirement Board (RRB), which administers retirement, survivor, disability, unemployment, and sickness insurance for railroad industry employees and survivors. Reviews changes made to RRB and railroad unemployment insurance benefits in P.L. 111-5, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and in follow-on legislation concerning temporary extended unemployment benefits for railroad workers.
