Summary:
Provides information on the supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) work requirement rule for able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWD). Presents preliminary population estimate of the number of SNAP participants in FY2007-FY2010 that were ABAWDs and related data analysis to capture earnings-related characteristics. Discusses suspension of ABAWD rule under P.L. 111-5, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act; waivers of the rule that are available to States and were requested by States in FY2007-FY2012; and Presidential budget requests to continue suspension of ABAWD rule.
