- Summary:
- Examines interplay of four operational realities within which law enforcement and crime operate, including borders, turf, cyberspace, and jurisdiction. Analyzes challenges for law enforcement in each of these realities, both individually and in selected cases where they overlap; and discusses how law enforcement has adapted to combat present-day criminals through interagency cooperation, information sharing, and technology implementation. Considers how Congress may leverage its legislative and oversight roles to help law enforcement most effectively protect individuals, businesses, and national interests.
