- Continuation of a series of releases of selected records of executive sessions held during 1947-68. This volume, made public in 2010, contains unpublished or partially classified transcripts of Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearings and meetings during Jan.-Oct. 1968, including meetings and memoranda pertaining to Aug. 1964 Gulf of Tonkin incidents in which U.S. destroyers USS Maddox and USS Turner Joy allegedly came under attack by North Vietnamese torpedo boats, and brief official minutes of less significant Committee executive sessions interspersed chronologically throughout. Portions are deleted.
- Also includes transcripts of Committee June 27 (p. 701-727), July 20 (p. 747-776), July 22 (p. 777-809), July 23 (p. 839-868), July 24 (p. 869-910), and July 25 (p. 911-956) markup sessions on H.R. 15263, the Foreign Assistance Act of 1968. Amended bill was favorably reported.
- Hearings on May 14 and 15 were held before the Subcom on Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs, on July 22 before the Subcom on European Affairs, and on Sept. 11 before the Subcom on African Affairs. Meeting on June 5 was held before the Ad Hoc Subcom on International Grains Arrangement.
- Foreign Relations Committee members participating in the discussions in this volume are Senators J.
