Staff report investigating possible link between the GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) type 2 diabetes drug rosiglitazone maleate, commonly known as Avandia, and heart attacks, following a study in the New England Journal of Medicine illustrating a link between Avandia and cardiac risk.

Examines allegations that GSK was aware for several years prior to the study that there were possible cardiac risks associated with Avandia and attempted to minimize or misrepresent findings that Avandia may increase cardiovascular risk.
