Details legislative history of P.L. 84-373, the Presidential Libraries Act, which inaugurated Presidential libraries system to federally maintain and make publicly available official records and papers of former Presidents, as well as documentary materials of their families and political associates. Provides information on existing library facilities and their locations; and analyzes legislative options for the Act, including increasing endowment requirements for library foundations and clearly delineating relationship between the National Archives and Records Administration and library supporting organizations.
