- Provides overview of the budget reconciliation process, an optional procedure under the Congressional Budget Act of 1974 that operates as an adjunct to the annual budget resolution process. Examines the timing of certain stages of the reconciliation process, and extent to which the submission due date included in a reconciliation instruction is a predictor for the timing of committee response. Provides information on dates by which committees have been directed to respond to reconciliation directives, and timing of House and Senate committees in responding to such directives, from the 101st to 111th Congresses.
