Discusses issues surrounding AF plans to acquire a next-generation bomber (NGB) aircraft by 2018, in light of recent Administration proposal to defer start of NGB program. Outlines plans for NGB program prior to FY2010 budget submission, reviews recent comments on NGB, profiles existing bomber fleet, reviews U.S. bomber force since end of Cold War, and summarizes prior-year legislative activity.
