Summary:
Examines DOD efforts to manage contractors during expeditionary operations, in light of P.L. 110-181, the National Defense Authorization Act of FY2008, which required DOD, and especially the Army, to train military personnel who are outside the acquisition workforce but are expected to have acquisition responsibility, and to incorporate contractors and contract operations into mission exercises. Considers options for Congress to monitor DOD efforts to comply with P.L. 110-181, including requiring military departments to report on acquisition education courses available for operational personnel.
