Provides information on naturally occurring retirement communities (NORCs),or neighborhoods that are not built specifically for the elderly but have a significant proportion of older residents; and describes NORC supportive services programs (SSPs) that provide senior citizens with health care and other related services, including examples of two NORC-SSPs. Summarizes Congressional activity related to funding NORC-SSPs with detailed information on locations that have received Federal funding for NORC-SSPs between FY2002 and FY2005; and discusses issues regarding future funding of NORC-SSPs.
