"Map: The forts marked [red diamond-pointed square] are such as the Bd. of Trade recommended either to be repaired or new built. Fort Chartres is on the Mississippi between the Ilinois [sic] & Ohio Rivers & is marked [red triangle] - Kaskaskia lies near Fort Chartres."--Fragment pasted on lining paper of binding.
