- Summary:
- A receipt of payment to Dr. Henry Yancey for patient visits and prescriptions received and facilitated by William Amis. The receipt is divided in three columns, two on the front and one on the back, by date spanning three months from March through June 1843. Included on the receipt are the first names of patients visited, prescriptions for powders, solutions, and opium, and the costs for each service or visit. The receipt is signed by Yancey and noted paid by Amis on August 15, 1844. The receipt was housed in a transparent envelope with "Dr.'s acct. mostly for visiting slaves, Clarksville, Va." written on the outside in a modern hand in black ink.
