- A slim, ruled paper booklet tied together with a red ribbon probably created in the mid- to late-nineteenth century. A quotation written on the cover of the volume reads: "The turnpike road to peoples' hearts I find lies through their mouths, or I mistake mankind." The volume is comprised of culinary recipes including breads, dressings, desserts, meat dishes, salads, sandwiches, and sauces.
