- Sondra Radvanovsky is splendid as the tempestuous diva Floria Tosca who finds her world turned upside down when she is caught in a triangle of passion, murder, and politics with her lover, the free-thinking painter Cavaradossi (Marcello Giordani), and the villainous Baron Scarpia (George Gagnidze), the Roman chief of police, who wants Tosca for himself. Puccini's dramatically stirring and melodious score, featuring some of opera's most beloved arias, is conducted by Marco Armiliato.
