A collection of eight fairy tales similar to other "contes des fees" by Madame d'Aulnoy and Madame de Murat popular in late 17th c. France.

RBC copy has author's name "la Force" added in ms. on title page.
RBC copy has booklabel of Charles Cottier (1749-1822) first Consul of Carpentras; also included with book are eight additional variant booklabels belonging to Cottier (separately housed).
RBC copy has unidentifed bookplate with initials "H F" with dark figure emerging from box, possibly a 'diable en boîte' (devil in box) the French version of a jack in the box.
RBC copy acquire from Amanda Hall Rare Books in 2016.
