- Summary:
- The Bibliotheca Indica, started in 1849 by Royal Asiatic Society, Bengal is perhaps the earliest Indological series. This series consists of a collection of rare and unpublished works belonging to or treating of Oriental literature and contains original text-editions as well as translations into English, and also grammars, dictionaries, bibliographies, and studies. Out of 277 titles published until 1953, only the original texts in Sanskrit, Prakrit and other Indian languages and their translations are included in the following collection.
