- In the introduction the editor discusses the priority of Elckerlijc and Everyman. He believes that both are translated from a play "Quilibet," written in Latin by Petrus Dorlandus, and translated into Dutch by an unknown author. This Dutch version, re-translated into Latin and much enlarged by Ischyrius appeared with title: Homulus Petri Diesthemii comoedia ... Anverpie quondam in publico civitatum brabanticarum conventu vulgariter acta ... Coloniae, 1536. The change in title is indicated in the "Distichon Ischyrii".
- Quilibet ante fui, mutato nomine dicor.
- Nunc Homulus, per me nam resipiscet homo.
- Reprint of Dutch translation (Utrecht, n. d.) of the author's Der sunden loin ist der toid, Köln, 1539, which in turn was in the main based on the Homulus Petri Diesthemius) Another Dutch version of Gennep's play appeared at Nijmegen, 1556.
