- Summary:
- Yevgeni Vetrov is both a go-getting heart surgeon and a perfectly happy man. he starts every day with delight; his co-workers and patients adore him and his boss respects him. Every evening he comes home to his beautiful wife. On the signing day of a contract with American investors on a new medical center, she is found strangled in their apratment. Vetrov becomes the prime suspect. The evidence against him results in a lengthy sentence at a maximum security prison. Vetrov manages to escape on the way to Siberia. He returns to Moscow to conduct his own investigation into her murder.
