- Mr. Joseph Plass prepared the catalog for the printer, compiled the author and telgraphic indexes and furnished the material for the appendix on the sympathetic telegraph. Cf. Pref., v. 1, p. 7-8.
- The library of Josiah Latimer Clark, of Westminster, Eng., purchased in 1901 by Schuyler Skaats Wheeler, and prepared by him to the American institute of electrical engineers. Mr. Andrew Carnegie donated the fund to house, catalog and complete the collection.
- The library of the institute was consolidated in 1909 with the libraries of the American society of mechanical engineers and the American institute of mining engineers, to form the Engineers societies' library.
