- Summary:
- Set in Brazil in 1971 during the military dictatorship, this film follows several story lines. One concerns two brothers', Getulio Peter and John, involvement with a city theatrical company. Another follows the love story of Getulio and Lily, who is the granddaughter of a retired army general, Walmor. Lily and her boyfriend hide two "subversives" in the general's house. These stories are intertwined with the political turmoil, resistance, and the protagonists' opposition to the strict censorship and oppressions of the dictatorship. The documentary annotations are based on facts. One story follows the Living Theater troupe's arrest and the domestic and international opposition to the dictatorship in Brazil.
