Waer uyt consequentelick sal volghen, dat de voorsz. vrye Nederlandtsche Republijcke, t'allen tyden soo sal wesen ghequalificeert, in't stuck vande Equipagie ter Zee, soo om de Caep, als deur de Straet van Maghellaen, dat sy sich van geen uytheemsche macht lichtelijck aen-ghevochten te werden, sullen hebben te vreesen: : Maer ter contrarie (met Gods hulpe) op hare Inlandtsche, ende naebuerighe Bont-ghenooten saken goede ordre ghestelt hebbende, inde uyterste deelen, ende by d'alder-rijckste ende verre ghesetene groote Potentaten vande Werelt, niet alleen bekent: maer oock lief-tael, wel-bemint, ende van vele der selver seer gheacht, ende ontsien sullen wesen, &c. Ende dit alles tot groote vercleeninghe, jae in eenige quartieren gantsche vernietinghe der groote aensienlijcke heerschappye vande Spaensche ende Portugesche Natien, in de selve quartieren.
