"During my PhD research into George Enescu's music I came across rare recordings of the legendary Romanian tenor Ion Buzea: live performances captured during the 1964 George Enescu International Festival and Competition where he was awarded the first prize. In a spirit of nostalgia, and arising from a wish to have been part of this beautiful performance, we mixed the present and the past by adding my playing to the historical versions."

The 2nd-3rd works, originally for violin and piano, arranged for piano solo by Rachmaninoff; the 5th-9th, for voice and piano; the 10th-17th, originally for voice and piano, arranged for piano solo by Franz Liszt; and the 18th, originally for guitar, arranged for piano solo by Luiza Borac.
