False imprint; according to Rahir, one of two editions printed in Amsterdam by Joan Blaeu; distinguishing characteristics include spelling of translator's name as Gualdi, printer's name as Dv Val, and use of head-piece featuring fleurons and two heads in profile (see Rahir, p. 440, no. 113). Two other editions with the same imprint were printed in Brussels; see A. Willems. Les Elzevier, no. 1755.

L'abbé Gualdi is a pseudonym of Gregorio Leti; see A. Willems, Les Elzeviers, no. 1755.

The translation, of the author's Vita di donna Olympia Maldachini, has been attributed erroneously to Jean Baptiste Renoult.
