Notes:

The original work was a French treatise, "Somme des vices et de vertues," composed in 1279 by Frère Lorens, of the order of the Friars Preachers. It was translated into the Kentish dialect in 1340, by Dan Michel of Northgate, with the title "Ayenbite of inwyt".
