Summary:

The almost complete excavation of the Celto-Roman necropolis at Wederath-Belginum permitted researchers to study the whole spectrum of funerary rituals and actions. In addition to the actual burials, burned and ashy surfaces and fills were uncovered throughout the necropolis. This volume offers a full study of these ashy features, answering questions about their location, usage patterns, consistency, parallels and ritual importance. German text.
