Summary:
Semantic media was the focus of the first six workshops, but social media has now been added because it has substantially transformed the way organizations, communities, and individuals interact. The 21 papers cover situation and context, social adaptation and trends, recommendation and retrieval, metadata and features extraction, ontologies and linked open data, and adaptation and personalization. Among specific topics are combining situation and content similarities in fuzzy based interest matchmaking mechanisms, socio-semantic query expansion using Twitter hashtags, the contribution of stereo information to feature-based pattern classification for audio semantic analysis, weaving the economic linked open data, and supporting adaptive interactive systems with semantic markups and human factors.
