Summary:
This collection consists of 162 papers from the 2011 International Conference on Internet Computing and Information Services (ICICIS 2011), held in September 2011 in Hong Kong. Researchers working in different areas of internet computing and information services in China review current trends in the fields, past and current theories, new ideas, and future research areas. Topics include applications of internet computing, such as server virtualization technology in enterprise information, grid technology and e-government, software testing based on cloud computing, a thinning-based liver vessel skeletonization method, the design and implementation of an online exam system based on data mining, analysis of port informatization in China, and the analysis of risk management in construction enterprises development. Papers in the second part address information services and technology, including an analysis of 3-D parametric shape estimators, research on an e-learning behavior model based on Petri Nets and XML, fire detection based on image processing in a coal mine, handwriting recognition, a telephone client management system, and realization of a dynamic web page based on ASP. Many papers have issues with grammar, as these authors do not speak English fluently. Annotation ©2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
