The APA Task Force on the Victims of Crime and Violence organized itself to review the state of psychological knowledge on victimization; to survey theory and approaches to interventions for helping those who have been victimized; to explore past and present public and legal policies regarding victimization, with special emphasis on the Interface between psychology and law; and to make recommendations to the Board of Directors. This executive summary as well as the report itself consists of three parts: I. Describing the Victims of Crime and Violence; II. Psychological Help for the Victims; and III.
