- Summary:
- In this book we explore, simultaneously, both the social psychology of time and the temporal aspects of social psychological processes. The social psychology of time refers to how people understand time in their own cultural time and place, and how they make use of time in human social endeavors. The temporal aspects of social psychological processes refer to how temporal processes--some obvious, some little noticed--affect the social psychological processes and human actions through which people live out their lives. Chapters also cover how temporal factors play a fundamental and often overlooked role in many key methodological areas of psychology, including causality, internal and external validity, comparisons of empirical information gained by different research strategies, and theories of measurement and error.
