Notes:

Joy Allison is the pseudonym of Mary Ann Cragin, born Mary Ann LeBosquet in Dorchester, N.H., in 1836. In 1857 she married Dr. Francis Whittemore Cragin (1803-1858) of Greenfield, N.H.; after his death she moved with her son, Francis W. Cragin (1858-1937), first to Wisconsin, then to Kansas. She eventually returned east to Southborough, Mass., where she married James Harvey Gillett (1819-1893) in 1883, thereafter removing with him to his home in Vineland, N.J.
