- A Himmelsbrief or Letter from Heaven. Earnest and Earnest note two main types: "Letters from God" (generally headlined "Ein Brief" or "A letter" and purporting to have been handed down at Magdeburg in 1783) and "Heavenly Letters" (generally headlined "Himmels-Brief" or "Heavenly Letter" and exhibiting greater textual variety).
