Cover signed "A.L.P. Paris 2 mars 1871"; plates signed "Alfred Le Petit" and dated between 11 janv. and 30 mars 1871, except one, dated 26 juin 1871.
Many plates appear to be based on the anthropomorphized flowers of J.J. Grandville (Les fleurs animées, first published 1847).
