- Summary:
- "Copy of an Emotional Idiot tells the story of Zoe, a smut writer, a receptionist at a dungeon in New York City, and a self-described "emotional idiot." The chapters alternate between Zoe's life as a child, growing up with a father who was shattered in a parachuting accident and worked as a horse trainer, and her life as an adult, writing smut and answering the phone for the dominatrices who rule the dungeon. Possessing only "a touch of sadism" herself, Zoe experiences her first kiss at age twelve, sweaty and struggling on the floor of a school bus on the return trip from summer camp. That first kiss is precursor to her messy, chaotic relationships as an adult.
