Summary:
A unique fantasy adventure that takes the theme of W B Yeats's poem 'The Song of Wandering Aengus' as its motif and explores the rich Celtic legacy of myth, legend and language. Aengus, the god of love, embarks on a long quest in pursuit of the girl of his dreams. His journey becomes a surreal voyage in time and place, breaking through the boundaries between illusion and reality. He encounters extraordinary characters and events that challenge his courage, his imagination and his notions of love and truth.
The reader accompanies him on a rollercoaster ride through worlds of heroes, immortals, monsters and magic, and through the imaginative world of Celtic storytelling, where past, present and future interweave. With Aengus as guide, we follow the voyages of Maeldun, meet the enigmatic lord of the hollow lands, relive the doomed love of Deirdre and Naoise, and travel three days beyond the end of the world.
