Summary:
Manuscript is used for contemplation and recitation and is a late Vedic work, a philosophical treatise that reinterprets the symbolic value of Hindu rites and rituals, pointing to an underlying continuum between the individual self (ātman) and the universe (brahman). Small table at the end of the manuscript (f. 8r).

Colophon: oṃ pūrṇamadaḥ pūrṇam idaṃ pūrṇāt pūrṇam udacyate / pūrṇasya pūrṇamādāya pūrṇam evāvaśiṣyate // oṃ śāṃtiḥ śāṃtiḥ śāṃtiḥ // iti bṛhadāraṇye aṣṭamo 'dhyāyaḥ // 8 // bhāṣyānukrame ṣaṣṭo 'dhyāyaḥ // 6 // (f. 8r).
Dated saṃvat 1846 (1789) (f. 8r).
Scribe is Govinda Brahma, the son of Kaṇḍabhaṭṭa Brahma who resided in the Hindu pilgrimage center of Varāṇasī (f. 8r).
Mistakes covered in yellow or blacked out; some corrections and additions in margins; significant syllables, words, and phrases highlighted in red throughout.
