Biography/History:
Author referred to as Nārāyaṇa in the manuscript (f. 6v) and is most likely Nārāyaṇa Sarasvatī, also known as Abhinavanārāyaṇendrasarasvatī.
Summary:
Manuscript is used for contemplation and study and is a kind of manual and interpretive commentary (dīpikā) on the Kālāgnirudropaniṣad, parts of which are possibly drawn from the Atharvaveda. Work focuses in part on rules and regulations (Hindu law) surrounding the three vertical marks drawn on the foreheads of Śaiva initiates and called a puṇḍra, as well as different kinds of Hindu mantras used in rites and ceremonies and prayer.
