Summary:
Anna Netrebko opened the Met's 2011-12 season with her sensational portrayal of the ill-fated queen driven insane by her unfaithful king, in David McVicar's Met premiere production. Ildar Abdrazakov stars as Henry VIII, the English monarch whose obsession with a male heir led him to have two of his six wives executed. Ekaterina Gubanova sings Jane Seymour, Anne Boleyn's confidante and rival, and Stephen Costello is Percy, Anne's first love, whose return to court sets in motion the events that will lead to the queen's death. Marco Armiliato conducts Donizetti's masterful score.

Peter Gelb interview with Anna Netrebko
Introduction to Act I by Renée Fleming
Sinfonia
Nè venne il Re?
Ella di me, sollecita
Sì taciturna e mesta
Deh! non voler costringere
Come, innocente giovane
Ma poche omai rimangono
Non v'ha sguardo
Oh! qual parlar fu il suo!
Anna pure amor m'offria
Tu mi lasci?
Ah! qual sia cercar non oso
Chi veggio? In Inghiterra, tu, mio Percy?
Da quel dì che, lei perduta
Ah! così nei dì ridenti
Desta sì tosto
Voi, Regina!
Io sentii sulla mia mano
Or che reso ai patrii lidi
Questo dì per noi spuntato
È sgombro il loco
Ah! parea che per incanto
Cessa, cessa. tropp'oltre vai
Anna!Riccardo!
S'ei t'abborre, io t'amo ancora
Ah! per pietà del mio spavento
Alcun potria ascolarti
Tace ognuno, è ognun tremante!
In quegli sguardi impresso
In separato carcere
Backstage at the Met with host Renée Fleming: Interview with Ildar Abdrazakov and Ekaterina Gubanova
Introduction to Act II by Renée Fleming
Oh! dove mai ne andarono
O mie fedeli
Dio, che mi vedi in core
Sul suo capo aggravi un Dio
Dal mio cor punita io sono
Va', infelice, e teco reca
Ebben? dinanzi ai giudici
Scostatevi, il Re giunge
Ambo morrete, o perfidi
Al Consiglio sien tratti
Sposa a Percy
Per questa fiamma indomita
Stolta! Non sai
I Pari unanimi sciolsero
Ah! pensate che rivolti
Tu pur dannato a morte
Vivi tu, te ne scongiuro
Nel veder la tua costanza
Chi può vederla a ciglio asciutto
Piangete voi?
Al dolce guidami castel natio
Qual mesto suon?
Cielo, a' miei lunghi spasimi
Coppia iniqua
