- Linda Geary visited the studios of many CCA faculty and alumni. "During my sabbatical year in 2011, I set out to visit 100 artists' studios in the Bay Area ... [T]he list grew organically to also include writers, curators, and gallerists. ... I asked each person to pick six colors ... Later I realized that I was asking everyone to make a painting while we talked. After each visit, I took notes. Over the course of several months I condensed the notes down to a list of words, which represents my subjective recollection of each conversation. ...
