The 1st work for marimba with drums ensemble in which the musicians are challenged to vocalize as part of the ritualistic and theatrical aspect of the piece; 2nd work for marimba (1st and 3rd movements) and vibraphone (2nd movement); 3rd for marimba and string quartet; 4th for 1 percussionist and combines some theatrical elements such as movements and vocalization--from Buddhist like chanting to the intense Peking Opera style.
Recorded at Maureen Forrester Recital Hall, Wilfrid Laurier University, Dec. 15-17, 2008, and Feb. 19-20, 2009.
