Fourteenth-century Spanish vocal and instrumental music, presented in a reconstruction of the feast of the Black Virgin of Montserrat, interspersing an imaginary liturgy (Gregorian chant) with virelais, vocal canons, other polyphonic chansons, and instrumental dance music.
The 2nd-3rd, 7th, 9th, 13th, 17th and 18th works are taken from the Llibre vermell (Ms. 1 in the library of Montserrat Abbey).
