Summary:
When Roman architect Lucius Modestus' design for a new public bath is rejected as "outdated," he goes to the local bathhouse to think. During his visit, he's mysteriously sucked down through the water only to reemerge in a modern Japanese bathhouse 1,500 years in the future. Taking the measure of his surroundings, and inspiration from contemporary advances in bath design and technology, he returns to ancient Rome and incorporates his observations into his new bathhouse, Thermae Romae, which swiftly becomes the most popular bathhouse in the city!
